Post-Cursillo
The basic purpose of the Postcursillo is to renew, accelerate, and continue the conversion of each individual who has experienced the 3-Days. Cursillo is able to continue this conversion process through the Group Reunion and the Ultreya -- a process involving both individual and community aspects.
- Group Reunion - A Group Reunion is a small group of Cursillo friends that meet on a regular basis to share with one another the progress that has taken place in their lives, as well as support the efforts and development of the other members. The people share their spiritual growth as well as their growth in becoming a person who strives to bring a Christ-like attitude to their environments or surroundings. When a small group meets to pray and share their spiritual lives, friendship is discovered, realized, deepened, and sustained within the group. In this atmosphere of gracefilled support, enthusiasm for a Christ-like lifestyle is not only maintained, it is energized.
- Ultreya - The Ultreya, the Spanish word for “onward”, is a gathering of the larger Cursillo community. It is a time for the members of the Group Reunions to come together in order to form a larger community. Whereas the Group Reunion provides for the good of the individual, the Ultreya provides for the good of the community. Both are essential for the fulfillment of the course of our life in the light of the Gospel and the opportunity to share that life with other evangelizers. Within Central VA Cursillo, Ultreyas are held twice each month on the 2nd and the 4th Fridays.
